Jeffrey R. Stefforia, CPA, Partner

Jeff is president and a shareholder of Stefforia, Petik & Carlson, CPAs and is a graduate of Walsh College, Troy, Michigan. Jeff is a licensed CPA in the State of Michigan since 1991.

For more than 30 years, Jeff has provided audit, accounting, tax and consulting services to clients in many different industries including manufacturing, franchising, retail and wholesale.

Jeff is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants. He has been the treasurer and vice-chair of the Alzheimer’s Association, Michigan Great Lakes Chapter, treasurer of The Neutral Zone, an Ann Arbor teen leadership development organization.

In his spare time Jeff enjoys traveling with his wife Debbie and spending time at their cottage in northern Michigan.

Tim Petik, CPA, Partner

Tim is a shareholder of Stefforia, Petik & Carlson, CPAs and is a graduate of Eastern Michigan University, Ypsilanti, Michigan. Tim is a licensed Michigan CPA since 1995.

Tim has over 30 years’ experience assisting small businesses, individuals, non-profits and quasi-governmental entities in achieving their financial goals. Tim has a wide range of accounting and tax experience, including the industries of manufacturing, construction, retail, service and not-for-profit. Tim is well-versed and has provided tax consulting services for individuals, “S” and “C” corporations and LLCs.

Tim is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants. He served as Treasurer for the Livingston County Chapter of the American Red Cross and Washtenaw Area Community Advocacy.

Kirk M. Carlson, MBA, CPA, Partner

Kirk is a shareholder of Stefforia, Petik & Carlson, CPAs and is an MBA graduate from Wayne State University, Detroit, Michigan. He also has a Bachelor’s in International Relations, James Madison College, Michigan State University, East Lansing, Michigan. Kirk is a licensed CPA in the State of Michigan since 1993.

Prior to joining the firm Kirk managed his own CPA firm for ten years and worked for several Metro Detroit businesses over the last twenty years as their senior financial manager. Kirk has been an Associate Professor at Walsh College in Troy and a Lecturer in Wayne State University’s School of Business and has taught introductory financial accounting, managerial accounting and accounting information systems courses.

Kirk is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants.

As he gets older, Kirk enjoys riding his mountain and gravel bikes more than running. Kirk also enjoys wilderness backpacking. He is married and has three adult children and six grandchildren.

Ryan Mccollough, MA, CPA, Principal

Ryan is a principal of Stefforia, Petik & Carlson, CPA’s and is a Master of Science in Accounting graduate from Eastern Michigan University. His other academic achievements include a Bachelor of Arts in Finance from Michigan State University and two Associate Degrees from Oakland Community College. Ryan is a licensed CPA in the State of Michigan since 2017.

Ryan has over 10 years of public accounting experience, which includes providing tax services to businesses, individuals, and not-for-profits in both international and domestic settings.

Ryan is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants. He participated in the A2Y Chamber Leadership program and attributes this experience to additional insight of the local community. He is also a notary public appointed in the State of Michigan.

When he is not crunching numbers, he enjoys outdoor recreational activities with his wife and kids including cycling, hunting, fishing, and visiting the family cottage near Lake Huron.

Brian Winters, Manager

Brian is a staff accountant of Stefforia, Petik & Carlson, CPAs. He is an accounting graduate of Eastern Michigan University, Ypsilanti, Michigan. He also holds a Bachelor’s in Political Science from University of Michigan-Dearborn.

Brian started his accounting career with the firm fifteen years ago. He has a wide range of accounting and tax experience, both individual and business. He works with clients in many different industries including manufacturing, franchising, retail and wholesale. His participation in the A2Y Chamber Leadership Program has helped him with experience and knowledge of the greater Ann Arbor area.

Brian and his girlfriend enjoy traveling and he and his four kids enjoy time outdoors especially riding bikes and geocaching, and attending local sporting events.

Anna Sieffert, MA, CPA, Principal

Anna is a principal accountant at Stefforia, Petik & Carlson, CPAs and has a Master of Accountancy degree and a Bachelor’s degree from Davenport University, Grand Rapids, Michigan. Anna has been a licensed CPA in the State of Michigan since 2020.

She has over five years of public accounting experience, which includes providing tax services to a wide variety of clients including businesses and individuals.

Anna is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants, and Washtenaw Estate Planning Council.

In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, reading, or participating in outdoor recreational activities including riding bikes, hunting, fishing, and hiking.

Jadyn Barga, Staff Accountant

Jadyn is a staff accountant of Stefforia, Petik & Carlson, CPAs. She has a Master of Science in Accounting and a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from Eastern Michigan University, Ypsilanti, Michigan. Jadyn started her accounting career with the firm. She is currently continuing her education in obtaining her CPA license.

During her spare time, Jadyn enjoys going to sporting events, attending summer concerts, and spending time with friends and family.

Emily Murray, Staff Accountant

Emily is a staff accountant at Stefforia, Petik & Carlson, CPAs. She has an Associate’s Degree in Accounting from Washtenaw Community College, Ypsilanti, Michigan and a Bachelor of Arts in English from University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, Michigan. Emily was an intern for one tax season at SPC before joining the firm as a staff accountant. Emily is continuing her education working towards her Master of Science in Accounting at Eastern Michigan University, Ypsilanti, Michigan.

In her free time, Emily enjoys many creative hobbies including sewing and painting and exploring hiking trails around Ann Arbor.

Katie Malisow, Staff Accountant

Katie is a staff accountant of Stefforia, Petik & Carlson, CPAs. She has a Bachelor of Business Administration from Michigan State University.

She started her accounting career over 20 years ago. She has varied experience in for-profit and non-profit organizations. She joins Stefforia, Petik & Carlson from Scheuer and Associates, which merged with SPC two years ago. She has a wide range of accounting and tax experience and works with clients in many different industries.

Katie is married with two children. She enjoys hiking, reading, and cheering on her child in the MSU Spartan Marching Band.

Laura McCurren, Office Administrator

Laura is the Office Administrator at Stefforia, Petik & Carlson, CPAs. She has over ten years of office experience. You will meet her doing a million things at once at the front desk during tax season.

In her free time, Laura enjoys spending time with her three adult children and two grandkids. She is a committee member for Dexter Young Life and an active volunteer at her church. Laura also enjoys gardening and Orange Theory fitness classes.

Nancy Hartung, CPA

Nancy is a principal accountant of Stefforia, Petik & Carlson, CPAs.  She has a Bachelor’s degree from Western Michigan University.  Nancy has been a licensed CPA in the State of Michigan since 1999.

She joins Stefforia, Petik & Carlson from Scheuer and Associates, which merged with SPC two years ago. She has a wide range of accounting and tax experience and works with clients in many different industries.

Nancy is a member of the Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants.
